Update 1

Here we are - the President corner created by ISM for the President to have her musing, thoughts and council news. I have to admit this is my first time blogging. I was just getting used to Yahoo messenger to chat with friends when there's friendster, facebook and then twitter. I heard there's some other new stuff.

Anyway I think it's not too late to wish all Muslim 'Selamat Berpuasa'. In the wake of H1N1 please take care of yourself - take vitamins to boost your immune system. A few of our councilors had a scare of the virus and a few more are down with fever. Lets hope its not the dreadful virus.

We had our 2nd council meeting on 27 August 2009. Since its ramadhan our normal meeting which usually starts at 1.00 change d to 4.00 and we finished with the breaking of fast. We had our normal discussion with regards to all the working committees, boards, branches and divisions. In addition we also discussed with regards to initiatives and effort to achieve the goals the we set for this session.

We have set ourselves 3 main goals - (1) To upgrade and modernize ISM secretariat (2) Increase awareness and publicity of ISM and the profession (3) Increase international exposure. In addition to that our tagline is "EXPANDING ISM COMMUNITIES". Since the past 2 months so much had happen and I am not able to write due to time constraint. But I hope as the days pass, I would be able to share with you these experiences and update on incoming events in ISM.

So do drop me a line - or whatever term bloggers used.

Salam

  1. Congratulations Madam President from the QS Division. I think this is a great idea, giving first-hand and up-to-date news especially on ISM activities and the President's diary. Wow, what a hectic program for the ISM President. So watch out those aspiring ISM President.

Definitely we are moving in the right direction. The goals are fantastic. Let's focus on the younger generation, from school kids, tertiary students and the young graduates. Afterall they are our furture leaders.

The QS Division will give our full support on the Council's vision and goals.

  2. Thank you Sr Jailani. At last a comment on my blog and a gracious one at that. Hopefully this will encourage others to offer their comments, questions, ideas, thoughts etc. The President and councilors are just a conduit for all the members.
